UT Elementary Pre-K Admissions Policy
Admission Policy:
As an open enrollment charter school within the Texas public school system, the UT Elementary School offers equitable learning opportunities to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, culture and linguistic background, economic status, physical and personal attributes or disabilities. Families who live in the service area zip codes (78702, 78721, 78722, 78723,78741,78744, 78724) are eligible to apply. There are a limited number of slots available in all grade levels, so as part of its admissions policy UT Elementary School will conduct a lottery process. If there are more applications for admission than available positions in the school, names will be randomly selected using the lottery system. Students’ names will be drawn for both enrollment and waiting list during the lottery process. If a vacancy arises, the first name on the waiting list pool will be called to offer the position. This process will continue until a family accepts the slot. If no one accepts the slot, then enrollments will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Admission for Pre-kindergarten:
UT Elementary School has 30 slots in the state-mandated pre-kindergarten program and 10 slots in the tuition supported pre-kindergarten program. Families who enroll in our pre-kindergarten program will need to go through the lottery again in kindergarten, if you live in our service area.
