We Texans love our HEB not only for its iconic grocery stores but its community service and commitment to Texas education. The Little Longhorns at UT Elementary are no exception! Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting H-E-B representatives on our campus to explore new volunteer opportunities.
On August 22, H-E-B Public Affairs Manager Tamra Jones along with Carly from the Eastside Tech Hub and Charona from H-E-B #1 on East 7th spent time with teachers and students to explore the ways we can team up this year.
UT Elementary and H-E-B have a wonderful history of being partners. Over the years, Little Longhorns have gone on field trips to the 7th Street HEB, partners from HEB Digital on East 6th have been judges at our STEAM science fair, and just a few weeks ago, HEB generously delivered a huge box of new school supplies for our classrooms.
In addition to continuing these activities, we discussed HEB Tech Hub staff as engaging role models for STEAM students to learn about coding and the career pathways in technology. Volunteer readers would always be welcomed into our classrooms to engage the Little Longhorns. And wouldn’t it be great to have H-E-Buddy make an appearance at Spooktacular or Bevo Bash?
Join us in thanking our local HEB partners and celebrating their commitment to the Little Longhorns!
