UT Elementary utilizes Standard Response Protocol in regards to Emergency Management. Our school takes the safety of our students very seriously and we work in close partnership with The University of Texas at Austin, our families and our community.
To prevent and mitigate risk, we take the following actions:
- All visitors are required to show ID and are screened using the Raptor System
- All faculty, staff and students are trained using the Standard Response Protocol
- All staff, students and community members are taught how to report any safety concerns
- UT Elementary’s Safety Team conducts ongoing safety and security audits throughout the year
To prepare our students, faculty and staff:
- In conjunction with the Emergency Management team from UT Austin and the Texas Center for School Safety, UT Elementary has and follows an Emergency Operations Manual that includes the nationally recognized Emergency Response Protocol
- Our school routinely drills and performs exercises to train students, faculty and staff on emergency response actions and this includes reunification following events
